Pearl Chan is a Principal at Omidyar Technology Ventures where she invests in emerging technological innovations in the Consumer Internet and Mobile space. Pearl focuses on working alongside passionate entrepreneurs that are disrupting and changing the world.

Pearl has invested in and worked with numerous early stage technology companies including NationBuilder and Change.org. She has concurrently helped lead the firm’s theses in marketplaces, the sharing economy, blockchain and cryptocurrencies, and the “future of work”.

Prior to ON, she was at Tinicum Capital where she focused on sourcing and conducting due diligence on private and public investments with a focus on the technology and telecom sectors. Pearl began her career at Goldman Sachs in the investment-banking group advising a range of consumer-oriented and retail businesses. She also spent time working at a developing world non-profit in Kenya training local outsourcing partners and assisting entrepreneurs in developing their business models.

Pearl earned a BS in applied mathematics and a BA in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, where as an undergraduate she co-founded two non-profits. She is currently a founding member of Gen Impact and co-chair of the executive team.
